Guillory wins HBCUAC Pitcher of the Week

After throwing two scoreless outings and picking up his first victory, Wiley University pitcher Keyon Guillory takes Historically Black Colleges and Universities Athletic Conference (HBCUAC) Week 1 Pitcher of the Week for his performance from January 20 until February 2.

Guillory, the reigning conference pitcher of the year, continued where he left off. In the second game against the University of Houston-Victoria on January 25, he held the talented Jaguars to one hit. Guillory struck out six in three innings out of the bullpen, which kept the Wildcats in striking distance. In Saturday's game against Texas College, he limited the Steers to an unearned run on five hits and struck out 10 to earn his first win. After two weeks, Guillory is tied for the HBCUAC lead with a 0.00 earned run average and leads with 16 strikeouts.

Last season, he claimed four Pitcher of the Week Awards and won one nationally. Along with Gulf Coast Athletic Conference Pitcher of the Year, Guillory won Freshman of the Year and earned First Team All-Conference. Black College Nines named him Freshman of the Year and First Team All-Elite. Guillory was selected to the Minority Baseball Prospects HBCU All-Star Game.

This season he was selected Preseason All-HBCUAC First Team and Black College Nines Preseason All-Elite Second Team.
