Men's Basketball falls at Paul Quinn

DALLAS - In its first game in 2026, Wiley University men's basketball struggled to hit shots and could not keep pace with Paul Quinn College in a 107-53 loss in a Historically Black Colleges and Universities Athletic Conference (HBCUAC) game Thursday at the Tigers Den.

The Wildcats (1-12, 0-5 HBCUAC) have not won since October 25. They have fallen in their seventh straight road game dating back to February 15. It's their third loss this season by 30 or more points.

Wiley fell behind by seven and didn't hit its first field goal until nearly four minutes into the game. Paul Quinn opened up a double-digit lead with just under 13 minutes remaining. The Wildcats could not recover, as they shot 6-for-25 in the first half. The deficit increased to 20 points with over seven minutes remaining. Wiley went into the locker room trailing 51-22.

In the second half, Ka'Leb Connors hit a 3-pointer and Shamir Mosley made a layup, but they couldn't spark the offense. The Wildcats went nearly four minutes without making a field goal, which allowed the Tigers to push the margin over 30. Wiley was outshot 54.3 to 29.8 percent.

Mosley led the Wildcats with 15 points. He shot 9-for-11 from the free throw line and contributed four assists and three steals. Donavan Seamster and LaBree Williams followed with nine. Cortez Collins shared the team lead in rebounds with Amoni Waring at four and recorded a game-high three blocks. Caleibria McDonald led the team with five assists.

The Wildcats head to Huston-Tillotson University on Saturday for a 3 p.m. tip. The Rams lost 81-62 against Philander Smith University.
