Mosley wins HBCUAC Offensive Player of the Week

After leading Wiley University men's basketball in scoring last week and posting a career-high in Thursday's game, senior guard Shamir Mosley wins Historically Black Colleges and Universities Athletic Conference Offensive Player of the Week for his performance between January 26-February 1, the conference announced on Monday.

Mosley averaged 23.5 points per game in two games last week. In Thursday's game at Southern University at New Orleans, he scored a career-high 28 points, hitting 10 shots, including five 3-pointers, which were also career highs. This was his fifth 20-plus scoring game of the season and eighth in his career. He followed that performance with 19 points on seven made field goals. For the week Mosley recorded eight assists. He moved up to fourth in the HBCU Athletic Conference with 16.6 points per game.

His award is the second for the Wildcats this season. Cortez Collins was named Defensive Player of the Week for October 27-November 2. The Wildcats will play at Arkansas Baptist College for a non-conference game on Saturday.
