Mosley, Collins earn All-HBCUAC Honors

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. - Wiley University men's basketball players Shamir Mosley and Cortez Collins were thought to be among the best players in the Historically Black Colleges and Universities Athletic Conference (HBCUAC), according to the head men's basketball coaches. Mosley earned Second Team All-Conference and Collins earned a spot on the All-Defensive Team the conference announced Sunday.
 
Mosley, who is in his fourth and final season with the Wildcats had a career season. He scored 20 or more points in seven games and enters the HBCUAC 2026 Hope Credit Union Basketball Championship ranked third in the conference with 17.1 points per game. Mosley earned Offensive Player of the Week for January 26-February 1. He was also among the HBCUAC leaders in assists per game at 3.3. He recorded 11 games with three or more assists.
 
Collins earned his spot in the starting lineup and became an intimidating presence down low. He finished the regular season as the HBCUAC leader in block shots with 59 blocks. His average of 2.8 blocks per game ranks in the top five nationally. Collins had 12 games with three or more blocks. He leads the team with 135 rebounds, averaging 6.4 per game. Collins won Defensive Player of the Week for October 27-November 2.
 
Mosley and Collins will lead the Wildcats against Oakwood University in the opening round of the Hope Credit Union Basketball Championship scheduled for 5 p.m. on Tuesday.
