Mosley, Collins to play in HBCU Live Xperience All-Star Game

Wiley University men's basketball players Shamir Mosley and Cortez Collins will get to take the court one more time, as they were selected to compete in the Austin Area Urban League HBCU Live Xperience All-Star Game at 5:30 p.m. Saturday in San Antonio's Alamo Convocation Center.
 
The game will stream live on the Antlers Sports Network.
 
Mosley and Collins, who have been teammates the last two seasons, will actually compete against each other. Collins will play for Team Calvert, and Mosley will play for Team Nirenberg. Both of them will play with athletes they competed against in the Historically Black Colleges and Universities Athletic Conference.
 
Spending his entire career at Wiley, Mosley went from being a role player to an everyday starter. He had a breakout season in his senior year. He averaged 17.1 points per game, which ranked third in the HBCU Athletic Conference. In seven games, he scored 20 or more points. Mosley earned All-HBCUAC Second Team All-Conference and HBCUAC Offensive Player of the Week for January 26-February 1.
 
In two seasons, Collins went from playing less than 10 minutes per game to starting center. He finished the regular season as the HBCUAC leader in block shots with 64 blocks. His average of 2.9 blocks per game ranks in the top five nationally. Collins had 13 games with three or more blocks. He leads the team with 146 rebounds, averaging 6.6 per game. Collins earned a spot on the HBCUAC All-Defensive Team and won Defensive Player of the Week for October 27-November 2.
