Men's Soccer plays final home matches against Arlington Baptist, Tougaloo

The Wiley University men's soccer team returns to Pemberton Field for its final home matches of the 2024 season against Arlington Baptist University on Friday and Tougaloo College on Sunday.

Live statistics will be provided for both matches. The links are listed in the men's soccer schedule on wileyathletics.com. Takumi Ota, Marcus Momolu and Anfernee Bascombe will be honored on Sunday.

The Wildcats are seeking their first victory after a 4-1 defeat at Texas Wesleyan University on Monday. Stephen Gaskin scored his first career goal before time expired. Melvin Bonilla made four saves and earned Continental Athletic Conference Defensive Player of the Week. He is third in the conference with 12 saves. Jayce Graves leads the team with six shots. Christopher Haeger has the other goal for the Wildcats.

Arlington Baptist (0-2) fell to North American University on August 17 and Cedar Valley College on August 31. Ismael Calderon, Osvaldo Gomez and Jacob Rodriguez have scored for the Patriots. Hugh Elliott has made two saves and Wesley Whitt and Joao Ferreira have made one. Wiley won both matches against Arlington Baptist last season with 7-0 and 3-2 decisions.

Tougaloo (0-0-1) opened the season with a 2-2 tie against Belhaven University on Tuesday. It will visit Oakwood University on Friday. Last season the Bulldogs went 3-5-1. Sunday will be the third meeting between the Wildcats and Bulldogs. Wiley won 5-3 on October 12, 2023, and the teams played a scoreless tie on October 26.
