Men's Soccer visits No. 16 William Carey

The Wiley University men's soccer team will hit the road to take on William Carey, ranked No. 16 in the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics Men's Soccer Coaches' Top 25 poll, at 6 p.m. Saturday at Danny Owens Field.

Live statistics and video will be available. The links are listed in the men's soccer schedule on wileyathletics.com. This will be Wiley's first match against a ranked opponent since September 2, 2018, when it faced No. 1 Wayland Baptist University.

The Wildcats (2-3-0, 1-0-0 CAC) are coming off their first two victories with a 5-1 decision over Arlington Baptist University on September 6 and 4-1 over Tougaloo College in a Continental Athletic Conference match on Sunday. Anthony Ulloa recorded a hat trick and an assist against Tougaloo and earned CAC Offensive Player of the Week. Stephen Gaskin scored in both games, giving him three straight with a goal. Aaron Castillo scored a goal and made three assists in the win over Arlington Baptist. With Sunday's victory, the Wildcats sit in first place in the Continental Athletic Conference.

All four Crusaders' matches have come against the Red River Athletic Conference. They tied Louisiana State University in Shreveport and Louisiana Christian University, ranked No. 24 and receiving votes in the NAIA Top 25 poll. William Carey defeated Xavier University of Louisiana and LSU-Alexandria.

Kolby Godbolt leads William Carey in scoring with three goals, shots (12) and shots on goal (7). Caoimhin McConnell has a goal and three assists. Jamie Wynn has eight shots with five on net. Henry Hampshaw has started three of four matches at goal. He has two shutouts and stopped two of three shots he's faced.

Saturday will mark the second meeting between the Wildcats and Crusaders and the first in Hattiesburg. The schools played to a scoreless draw in 2016.
