Men's Soccer suffers defeat against Georgia Gwinnett

LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga. - Wiley University men's soccer players Habimana Janvier and Anthony Ulloa scored, but it was after the Wildcats gave up five first-half goals in a 10-2 loss Thursday at the Grizzly Soccer Complex in their opener of the Continental Athletic Conference Classic.

Janvier put Wiley on the board with his third goal of the season off a pass from Aaron Castillo, who picked up his fourth assist, in the 81st minute. Jayce Graves kicked it deep and found Ulloa, who netted his fourth goal of the season in the 83rd minute.

The Wildcats (2-7-0, 1-1-0 CAC) fell behind in the 18th minute. They gave up three goals in the next 15 minutes and one with less than three remaining until halftime. Georgia Gwinnett ended any hope of a second-half comeback with three goals in the first six minutes of the second half. Wiley was outshot 30-4. Melvin Bonilla made his seventh start of the season and stopped seven shots. Janvier and Ulloa each had two shots.

Wiley will finish the CAC Classic at 10 a.m. on Saturday against Florida College, who fell 1-0 against Talladega College earlier on Friday.
