Men's Soccer blanks Arlington Baptist
ARLINGTON, Texas - Jayce Graves scored two goals and Daniel Rojas posted his first career shutout, lifting Wiley University Soccer to a 4-0 victory over Arlington Baptist University Friday at Oakridge School.
The Wildcats (3-3-1) record their first shutout since October 26, 2023 (19 games and 701 days). They snap a three-match winless streak. The goals were Graves' first of the season. He scored in the 50th and 71st minutes, which increased the lead to three. He led the team with seven shots and five on goal.
Anthony Ulloa got Wiley on the board in the 38th minute with his third goal of the season. Habimana Janvier scored his first of the season in the 74th minute, which was assisted by Alvaro Guerrero. Wiley outshot Arlington Baptist 22-3. Fifteen of those shots were on goal.
Rojas made his second start of the season at goalkeeper. He stopped three shots, with two in the first half that kept the match scoreless. His save in the second half preserved a two-goal margin.
The Wildcats will rematch against the Patriots at 3 p.m. Friday at Pemberton Field.
