Indoor Track and Field Open 2026 season at McNeese State

Wiley University men's and women's indoor track and field begin a six-meet schedule at McNeese State University's Indoor I Invite Friday at the McNeese Recreation Complex.

Field events begin at 11 a.m., and running events start at 4 p.m. Wiley will compete against schools from the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) and National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA). Xavier University of Louisiana is the only other National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) school competing.

 

The Wildcats return 13 from last season. Ronald Garrett Jr. quailifed for the 2024 NAIA Indoor Track and Field National Championship in the 60-meter hurdles. The last two seasons he qualified for the Outdoor Track and Field National Championship in the 110-meter hurdles, finishing in the top 10 last season. Head coach Christopher McConnell, who is entering his second season, brought in 15 athletes.

 

The Lady Wildcats bring back nine athletes. Meeyesha Tutt-Moutouo qualified for the 2024 NAIA Indoor Track and Field National Championship in the long jump. She advanced to the 2023 and 2024 Outdoor Track and Field National Championships in the triple and long jump. McConnell added eight athletes to the roster. Jae Jemmott and Morgan Sellers who have competed on the volleyball team the last two seasons join the team.
