Goldsby claims fourth HBCUAC Men's XC Runner of the Week Award
After running his fastest time this season, Wiley University men's cross country athlete Javoun Goldsby claims Historically Black Colleges and Universities Athletic Conference Runner of the Week for the fourth time for his performance from September 30-October 6, the conference announced Monday.
Goldsby ran 29:24 in Dallas Baptist University's Old Glory Gallop eight-kilometer race. He was 10 seconds shy of his 8K personal best - running at a 5:54 mile-pace. The four-time HBCUAC Runner of the Week ran against 400 athletes from National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) and National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) schools.
Goldsby and Wiley will run at Ouachita Baptist University's Tiger Invitational on Friday, their final meet before the 2024 HBCUAC Men's and Women's Cross Country Championships on October 18.
