Men's Cross Country completes ULM Invitational
STERLINGTON, La. - Wiley University men's cross country finished the University of Louisiana-Monroe Invitational with freshman Dwight Bennett leading the way at the Sterlington Athletic Complex on Friday.
Bennett ran a personal best 30:16.45 in the eight-kilometer course. He finished 14th in the 46-man field. Javoun Goldsby, who didn't run the previous week, followed at 30:51.93. Earl Hurd Jr., the reigning Historically Black Colleges and Universities Athletic Conference (HBCUAC) Freshman of the Week, finished in 30:57.12.
"I thought we ran pretty well," head coach Christopher McConnell said. "We still have a long way to go."
The Wildcats will not compete next week. They will compete in The Hill Cross Country Classic, hosted by Hill College on September 26. This meet marks the beginning of the second half of the season, which culminates in the 2025 HBCUAC Cross Country Championship on October 17.
