Jackson Jr. claims HBCUAC Runner and Freshman of the Week
Wiley University freshman Ryan Jackson Jr. wins Historically Black Colleges and Universities Athletic Conference (HBCUAC) Runner and Freshman of the Week. He was honored for his performance between September 22-28, the conference announced on Tuesday.
Jackson surpassed his personal best by over seven minutes, running 28:15 on the eight-kilometer course at the Hill Cross Country Classic. His time ranks as the top 8K time in the HBCUAC. This was Jackson's fourth race of the season.
This is the fifth and sixth weekly honor won by the Wildcats. John Russell Jr. won Newcomer of the Week for August 25-31. Earl Hurd Jr. won Freshman of the Week for September 1-7. Dwight Bennett Jr. won Runner and Freshman of the Week for September 8-14. The Wildcats will compete in the Belhaven Invitational on Saturday.
