Game Notes

Wiley (0-1) aims to improve its standing after dropping their season opener against Langston University on October 24. Despite a challenging past between these two teams, with Texas Wesleyan leading the series 16-15 since it commenced in 1983, the Lady Wildcats are looking to leverage their home court advantage and the fervor of Homecoming to clinch a victory.

From the player's perspective, Wiley will be banking on the talents of newcomers Celebria Peacock and Jessica Nerestant, who both led the team in scoring with seven points against Langston on October 24. Elizabeth Camacho, recognized as the HBCUAC Defensive Player of the Week for her standout performance in rebounding with eight against Langston.

Texas Wesleyan opens the season on Saturday after finishing 13-16 last season and reaching the quarterfinals of the Sooner Athletic Conference Tournament. They will lean on senior wing Taryn Wills, their top scorer and rebounder from the previous season with 11.2 points and 5.2 rebounds per game, alongside junior forward Sophia Hurtado, who led in blocks with 13.
