Dike, Foster garner HBCUAC Weekly Honors

After leading Wiley University women's basketball to two victories, Kelechi Dike wins Historically Black Colleges and Universities Athletic Conference (HBCUAC) Offensive and Defensive Player of the Week. Alexis Foster earns Newcomer of the Week. The ladies were recognized for their performances between November 24-30.
 
Dike posted two double-doubles, helping the Lady Wildcats secure two victories and extend their winning streak to three games. She put up 10 points and 11 rebounds, with seven on defense in a 67-59 victory over Centenary College of Louisiana on Tuesday. On Saturday, Dike recorded her second 20-plus scoring game with 22 points and 12 rebounds in a 67-58 win over Dallas Christian College. Seven of her rebounds were on offense. For the week, Dike recorded three steals, three blocks and two assists.
 
Foster had a solid performance in both games for the Lady Wildcats. She averaged 12.5 points and 4.5 assists per game. In Saturday's game against Dallas Christian, Foster posted a double-double with 17 points, 10 rebounds and seven assists. She hit key shots that helped Wiley pull away in the second half.
 
The awards are the third and fourth for the Lady Wildcats. Brandy Jones won Offensive and Newcomer of the Week for October 20-26.
 
Wiley resumes HBCUAC play against Southern University at New Orleans on Thursday and Dillard University on Saturday.
