Women's Soccer takes on Centenary, Huntingdon
Wiley University women's soccer looks to remain unbeaten as it travels to Shreveport for matches against Centenary College of Louisiana at 5 p.m. Friday and Huntingdon College at noon at Saturday at Centenary College's Atkins Field.

The Lady Wildcats (2-0-0) are seeking to become the second team in program history to open with three consecutive victories. They accomplished the feat in 2015, which resulted in the program's first winning season.
Wiley seeks its second victory against the Ladies, with its last coming in 2014. The teams played a home-and-home series last season with the Lady Wildcats suffering a 1-0 loss on the road and played to a 1-1 tie at home. Saturday will be the first time the Lady Wildcats have met the Hawks.

BY THE NUMBERS:
6: Through two matches, Wiley University is spreading the wealth as six Wildcats have found the back of the net. Yamilett Umana and Nadia Hernandez lead the team with two apiece.
5: The Lady Wildcats are in the middle of a five-match stretch away from home. Following these matches, they visit LeTourneau University on Tuesday and Texas A&M University-Texarkana on September 13.
4: Under head coach Andrew Benitez, the Lady Wildcats are 4-0 when they score first and when they score three or more.
3: The 2025 Lady Wildcats are the third team to open with two consecutive victories. They also accomplished the feat in 2016 and 2015.
Three Lady Wildcats have earned honors. Yajaira Hernandez and Samantha Rodriguez earned spots on the 2025 Preseason All-Historically Black Colleges and Universities Athletic Conference Team. Cynthia Lopez earned HBCUAC Week 1 Newcomer of the Week
2: After two matches, the Lady Wildcats have matched their win total from last season. It's tied for the most wins since the program was reinstated in 2023.
The Lady Wildcats will only play at home twice by the end of September. Its next match at Pemberton Field is September 24 against Texas Wesleyan University.
UP NEXT: The Lady Wildcats will play their third straight match against an NCAA Division III school when they take on LeTourneau University on Tuesday.
