Women's Soccer wraps road trip at Texas A&M-Texarkana

Wiley University women's soccer looks to finish its first road trip strong as it visits Texas A&M University-Texarkana at 5 p.m. Saturday at Judy Kelley Morgan Field.

They won the first three but are coming off a 3-0 loss against National Collegiate Athletic Association Division III school LeTourneau University on Tuesday. It was the first time the Lady Wildcats were held without a goal since last season's regular season finale against Talladega College on October 26, 2024.
 
Nadia Hernandez is tied for third in the Historically Black Colleges and Universities Athletic Conference with three goals. She is fifth with seven points. Cynthia Lopez is tied for fourth with two assists and ranks in the top 15 with four points. Feryi Sanchez claimed Freshman of the Week and ranks 10th in the conference with five points. Mariana Quijano ranks third in the conference with 21 saves, second in save percentage (.778) and second with a 1.32 goals against average.
 
Texas A&M-Texarkana (3-1-1) is on a three-match winning streak, outscoring its opposition 15-0. Desiree Narvaez leads the Eagles in scoring with five goals and two assists. Brooklyn Lattier follows with three goals and one assist. Nayomy Cueva has picked up two wins as the starting goalkeeper, made two saves and earned a shutout. Ayleen Avila is 1-0 and contributed to a shutout. Layla Anaya made nine saves in two starts.
 
This will be the ninth meeting between the Lady Wildcats and Lady Eagles. The teams last played in 2018 during Wiley's final season in the Red River Athletic Conference. The Lady Wildcats trail the series, having won only three of their eight matchups, with the last victory coming in 2017. The teams met twice in the Red River Athletic Conference Tournament, with the Eagles ending the Lady Wildcats' season.
 
Following this match, the Lady Wildcats won't take the field until September 24 when they host Texas Wesleyan University.
