Women's Soccer falls to Texas A&M-Texarkana

TEXARKANA, Texas - Alexse Orozco scored her first goal of the season, but Wiley University women's soccer could not stop Texas A&M University-Texarkana in a 4-1 loss Saturday at Judy Kelley Morgan Field.
 
The Lady Wildcats' skid extends to two matches. They slide to 2-2 in road matches. Orozco scored in the 50th minute, but it was after the Eagles found the back of the net in the 27th and 31st minutes. Wiley allowed two more in the 56th and 77th minutes. It was outshot 25-16 and 20-10 in shots on goal.
 
Deyanara Hernandez had a scoring chance in the fifth minute, but it was stopped by Texas A&M-Texarkana goalkeeper Nayomy Cueva. Nadia Hernandez had a shot go wide in the 17th minute. A flurry of shots by Texarkana set up its first goal. A rebound set up the second.
 
Nadia Hernandez and Natalie Brice put shots on goal late in the first half. Deyanara Hernandez had another scoring opportunity that was stopped by Cueva in the 59th minute. Nadia Hernandez had a chance in the 72nd minute, which was also turned away.
 
Wiley will return to action on Wednesday at Louisiana State University of Alexandria.
