Women's Soccer overwhelms Arlington Baptist University

ARLINGTON, Texas - Eight players scored as Wiley University women's soccer returned to the win column with a 9-0 rout over Arlington Baptist University Friday at Oakridge School.
 
The Lady Wildcats (5-3-0) snapped a three-match losing streak with their highest scoring output of the season. Alondra Limon scored her first two goals of the season. Paloma Espinoza and Nadia Hernandez each provided a goal and two assists. Deyanara Hernandez tallied her third goal of the season and her first assist. Feryi Sanchez scored her third of the season.
 
Wiley got on the board in the ninth minute with Deyanara's goal. Carissa Escamilla increased the lead in the 17th minute with her first of the season. Carolyn Espinoza scored her first of the year, less than a minute later. Paloma's goal gave the Lady Wildcats a 4-0 halftime lead.
 
Limon scored her two goals in the first three minutes of the second half. Nadia set up Lizette Navarro's first career goal in the 61st minute and followed with her fourth of the season in the 64th minute.
 
Leah Ramirez made her first career start in goal. She stopped the only shot she faced in over 55 minutes of playing time, earning her second victory of the season. Destiny Allison made her second appearance of the season and played the last 34 minutes of the game. She made two saves to preserve the shutout.
 
The Lady Wildcats will travel down the street and take on East Texas Baptist University at 7 p.m. Wednesday.
