Second Half comeback falls short against Paul Quinn

DALLAS - Wiley University women's soccer freshman forward Yamilett Umana scored her fourth goal of the season in the 76th minute, but the Lady Wildcats could not overcome a two-goal deficit in a 3-2 loss against Paul Quinn College Thursday.

They lost consecutive matches for the second time this season. The loss eliminates them from contention for the top seed in the HBCUAC West Division and puts them in danger of falling to the third seed.

Wiley (7-5-0, 1-2-0 HBCUAC) fell behind in the fifth minute. Alondra Limon evened the match with her fourth goal in the 17th minute, set up by Deyanara Hernandez. The match remained tied until the 63rd minute. Paul Quinn regained the lead and scored just over a minute later to extend the lead. After Umana's goal, Carolyn Espinoza had a shot stopped in the 84th minute. Limon's potential match-tying shot was denied in the 89th minute.

The Lady Wildcats close out the regular season against Huston-Tillotson University.
