Johnson, Tutt-Moutouo win events at Harding Invitational
SEARCY, Ark. - Wiley University women's track and field athletes Ariel Johnson won the 100-meter hurdles and Meeyesha Tutt-Moutouo won the long jump at the Chick-Fil-A Harding Invitational hosted by Harding University at the Ted Lloyd Track on Saturday.
The Lady Wildcats competed against athletes from National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) and National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) schools. Team scores were not kept.
Johnson, the reigning conference champion, finished the race in 15.20, topping a field of 12 athletes. Her time was 0.93 seconds from the 'B' qualifying standard. Tutt-Moutouo, the defending conference champion and 2024 NAIA national championship qualifier, leaped 5.36 meters, 0.08 meters ahead of the runner-up and 0.39 meters from the 'B' national championship qualifying standard.
Remi Pierre and Sukanya Pegese made their collegiate debuts in outdoor track and field. The Lady Wildcats will head to McNeese State University's Cowboy Relays 'Bob Hayes Challenge' in Lake Charles, La. on March 15.
