Johnson wins 100-meter hurdles at Bryan Phillips Open

SEARCY, Ark. - Wiley University women's track and field athlete Ariel Johnson outran eight athletes, mainly from National Collegiate Athletic Association schools to claim the 100-meter hurdles at Chick-Fil-A Bryan Phillips Open hosted by Harding University at Ted Lloyd Track.

Johnson ran 15.32, just over a second from the 'B' national championship qualifying standard. It's her second time winning the event. She previously won at the Harding Invitational on March 8.

Meeyesha Tutt-Moutouo finished third in the long jump with a leap of 5.15 meters, 0.6 shy of the 'B' qualifying standard. She jumped 10.81 meters in the triple jump, finishing within a meter of the qualifying standard.

Elisa Clay threw a personal best of 21.89 meters in the discus. Kyla Deyon led Wiley in the 100-meter dash. Remi Pierre led in the 200-meter dash. Kaiden Taylor posted the team's top time in the 400-meter dash.

The Lady Wildcats will compete for the 2025 Historically Black Colleges and Universities Athletic Conference Track and Field Championship at Lee Hedges Stadium in Shreveport, La. on April 11-12. They are seeking their first conference title as a member of the HBCUAC and sixth in program history.
