Women's Track and Field head to HBCUAC Championship
The Wiley University women's track and field team will head to Shreveport to vie for the 2025 Historically Black Colleges and Universities Athletic Conference (HBCUAC) Championship Friday and Saturday at Lee Hedges Stadium.
The meet will broadcast on the Urban Edge Network, which can be viewed online or fans can download the free application. Live results are also available. The link is listed in the women's track and field schedule on wileyathletics.com. Friday's field events start at 10:30 a.m. Running events will start at 1 p.m. Saturday's events begin at 10 a.m.
The Lady Wildcats seek their first HBCUAC title and sixth conference title in program history. Their last win was in 2017, when they three-peated the Red River Athletic Conference title.
Meeyesha Tutt-Moutouo and Ariel Johnson are looking to defend their titles and post qualifying times and marks for the 2025 National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics Women's Outdoor Track and Field National Championship. Tutt-Moutouo won the long jump and high jump at last season's championship. Her season-best of 5.36 meters in the long jump is 0.39 meters from the 'B' qualifying standard. She jumped 11.17 in the triple jump at the Prairie View A&M Relays on March 21, finishing 0.54 meters from the 'B' qualifying standard. Johnson won the 100-meter hurdles twice, her best time of 14.72 was 0.45 seconds shy of the 'B' qualifying standard.
The Lady Wildcats will be one of nine schools competing for the championship. Last season it finished third with 72 points. Dillard University enters the meets as the three-time defending conference champion.
