Bio

Chinonye Onwuchekwa, DBA, was appointed as Head Volleyball Coach in December 2025. She took over as interim head coach in September 2025 and guided the Lady Wildcats through their final seven matches while also serving as a professor of business management and director of financial literacy. 

She played collegiately at Lake Sumter State College and Warner University. She was a tri-sport athlete in high school at John Ehret High School and East Ridge High School. At John Ehret High School, she ran on the 2002 National Runner Up 4 x 100-meter relay team. At East Ridge High School she helped the volleyball program win conference in the school's first year in 2002 and finish as State Runner Up in 2003. Onwuchekwa was the school's Track and Field Athlete of the Year and Girls Basketball Most Valuable Player.

She earned her Bachelor's Degree in Kinesiology, a Master's in Business Administration and a Doctorate in Business Administration.
