Women's Cross Country finishes ULM Invitational

STERLINGTON, La. - Wiley University women's cross country completes the University of Louisiana-Monroe Invitational with freshman Samarea Womack leading the team for the second consecutive week.
 
Womack ran a personal best 25:48.58 in the five-kilometer course. She finished 18th in a field of 42 runners, most from National Collegiate Athletic Association Division I schools. Kaiden Taylor followed at 26:14.51. Anndrea Reed and Jazlynn Lomax made their debuts.
 
"We have a long way to go," head coach Christopher McConnell said. "I'm pleased with their performance."
 
The Lady Wildcats do not compete next week. They will head to The Hill Cross Country Classic hosted by Hill College on September 26. The race marks the beginning of the second half of the season, culminating in the 2025 HBCUAC Cross Country Championship on October 17.
