Women's Cross Country opens Second Half of Season at Belhaven Invitational

CLINTON, Miss. - Wiley University women's cross country returned to the starting line at the Belhaven Invitational, opening the second half of the season Saturday at Choctaw Trails.
 
This was the Lady Wildcats' first race since competing in the University of Louisiana-Monroe Invitational on September 12 and their first six-kilometer race. For the third consecutive meet, freshman Samarea Womack led the team with a time of 31:42.57. Kaiden Taylor followed closely behind at 31:43.76. Remi Pierre (32:55.14), Anndrea Reed (34:39.24) and Jean-Marie Farinha (35:21.77) rounded out the team's performance.
 
Wiley competed against 10 schools, primarily from the National Collegiate Athletic Association. Historically Black Colleges and Universities Athletic Conference schools Dillard University and Tougaloo College, also ran.
 
The Lady Wildcats will head to Dallas Baptist University's Old Glory Gallop on October 11. It will be their final meet before the 2025 HBCUAC Championship on October 17.
