SHREVEPORT - The Historically Black Colleges and Universities Athletic Conference (HBCUAC) West Division Champion begins its 2025 HBCUAC Championship run with a semifinal match against the West No. 3 seed Paul Quinn College at 6 p.m. Wednesday.
The Wildcats (7-3-2, 3-0-1 HBCUAC) make their fifth postseason appearance and first since 2016. It is the third time in program history they've advanced to the conference semifinals and first time holding a No. 1 seed.
Anthony Ulloa and Jayce Graves led Wiley's balanced offensive attack with six goals apiece. Alejandro Barcena and Aaron Castillo follow with three each. Ten Wildcats have found the back of the net.
Daniel Rojas picked up his third solo shutout and contributed to his fourth. He leads the conference with a 0.43 goals-against average and stopped 12 of 14 shots.
Paul Quinn (3-5-6, 0-3-1) advanced with a 5-1 opening round victory against East No. 2 seed Oakwood University on Tuesday. Amado Garcia scored two goals to pace the Tigers.
This will be the third time the Wildcats and Tigers have met this season. Wiley won 4-0 at Pemberton Field and tied 2-2 in Dallas. The match will be their first postseason meeting.
