Men's Track and Field travels to Bryan Phillips Open
Wiley University men's track and field will compete in the 2026 Stallion Transportion Bryan Phillips Open hosted by Harding University at Ted Lloyd Track in Searcy, Arkansas on Saturday.
Field events start at 10:30 a.m. and running events start at 2:30 p.m. Live results are available.
The Wildcats are coming off the Texas State University Bobcat Invitational. Ronald Garrett Jr. qualified for the 2026 National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) Men's Outdoor Track and Field National Championship in the 110-meter hurdles for the third straight season. He surpassed the 'B' qualifying standard with a time of 14.43. He was within a second of qualifying in the 400-meter hurdles, finishing in 54.35.
Austin Songa is near qualification in the 100-meter dash. His season-best 10.95 is 0.51 seconds from the 'B' qualifying standard. The 4 x 400-meter relay team of Earl Hurd Jr., Jaylon Donson, Garrett and Jaden Cole were within four seconds of the qualifying standard.
This meet is the penultimate meet before the Wildcats compete in the 2026 Historically Black Colleges and Universities Athletic Conference (HBCUAC) Track and Field Championship. Next week, they will compete in the Dan Veach Invitational hosted by Southern Arkansas University.
