Men's Soccer closes out 2025 Home Schedule

Wiley University men's soccer concludes its 2025 home schedule against Oakwood University at 9 p.m. Saturday at Tatum High School and Huston-Tillotson University in a Historically Black Colleges and Universities Athletic Conference (HBCUAC) match at 2 p.m. Monday at Pemberton Field.
 
Live statistics will be available for both matches. The Wildcats (4-3-1, 1-0-0 HBCUAC) are looking to extend their two-match winning streak. They opened HBCUAC play with a 4-0 victory over Paul Quinn College, marking their second straight shutout. Alejandro Barcena scored two goals and earned HBCUAC Offensive Player and Freshman of the Week. Kevin Nievas made one save in 67 minutes, en route to another Defensive Player of the Week award. Melvin Bonilla completed the clean sheet, making a save in the last 23 minutes. Ian Hernandez picked up his second assist and second Newcomer of the Week award.
 
The Ambassadors (1-4-0, 1-1-0 HBCUAC) picked up their first victory against Talladega College with a 1-0 decision on Monday. They only have stats uploaded for three of their five matches. Isaac Abrahams has scored two of Oakwood's three goals. Neriah Been has seen the most action at goalkeeper. In two starts, he stopped 12 of 15 shots.
 
The Rams (6-5-0, 1-0-0 HBCUAC) are on a two-match winning streak and opened HBCUAC play with a 3-1 victory over Paul Quinn College on Thursday. Manuel Guevara leads the team in scoring with five goals and three assists. Three players have seen playing time in the net. Mauricio Olivares leads the team in saves with 15. Juan Acosta is 3-1-0 and has saved 80 percent of the shots he's faced.
 
Saturday will be the first meeting between the Wildcats and Ambassadors. Monday will mark the 10th meeting between the Wildcats and Rams. The schools competed against each other in the Red River Athletic Conference from 2011 to 2018. Wiley owns a 5-4 series edge as they play Huston-Tillotson for the first time since 2018.
